I am still so sore from Monday's workout with the trainer that I am literally dreading my session later this morning. Ugh.
Planned after that is the post trainer run on the treadmill. Although, as I type this, I wonder if I should run outside with the dog. It is SO nice out. Seems a shame to miss actual nice weather. Plus then I get the actual, real stats from my Garmin.
You know, the weather man on the radio said that this is only the 2nd time in 5 years that our city will have had a nice May long weekend. Imagine. Of course, now everyone is talking about planting their flowers. Which they will do, and then in a week or two we will get a freak snow dump and then I will have to listen to them all complain. Sheesh.
So, America's Next Top Model? I was so happy with the final two that I honestly didn't care which one won. I was excited though to see them make such a bold move in picking the winner.
So, I had a minor melt down yesterday. It was completely stress triggered. By around 7:00 though, I had pulled myself out of my funk, figured out my plan to move forward.
I'm trying to talk my family into going for a hike this weekend in the mountains. So far I have come up against quite a few roadblocks, but I think in the end we will be able to get out. I really need to get daughter moving more. She goes in spurts and really doesn't understand that you need to be active everyday. I think I will be putting her on dog duty after the long weekend. Right away after school, before she has time to do anything else. I showed her a route yesterday that is just over 3k and an easy walk uphill for 1/2 of it.
Husband is also trying to organize a dinner out with another couple for this weekend. As a thank you to them for a favour they did us. Anyhow, I'm stressed about that because I don't want to have to work my way through the minefield of a restaurant and I don't want the people to know I'm on WW. I know, I shouldn't be ashamed, and normally I'm not, but then if they know you are watching your choices, then every choice you make is scrutinized, and I don't like the attention. Of course, I could just get over myself, but where's the mental anguish in that?
So, I have 2 weeks to keep my head in the game before my reunion. 2 weeks. I can't afford any more melt downs. My girlfriend doesn't even have her dress yet. I hope she gets one soon. I have two that I'm trying to decide between. Closer to "the day" I may post both on my picture blog to get your opinions.
Have a healthy day bloggers!

So Sore....
My session Monday with the personal trainer was a killer. Again we didn't use any actual weights. I can still hardly walk my ass hurts so much.
I've managed to up my runs to 5.5mph on the treadmill. I hope to be at 6.0 soon.
BBQ with family was ok. Weigh in the next morning also ok. I maintained.
I'm feeling kinda blah today, so this is all I have for a post. Have a healthy day bloggers!

Best Mother's Day EVER
I had a great weekend.
Saturday we took my mom out to her fav steak place for supper. We had reservations at 8:00 (holy lateness!) and the restaurant called at 6:30 to say we could have a table at 7:00 instead! YAY!!
I ate a dif dish than normal, but I had everything that came with the meal, cause we were having a nice night out special. Came home and thought, eh, that was likely all my points for today and my flex, I will just go forward only eating daily points target and maybe activity points. After around 10 minutes, I thought, no, this is your life now. You figure it out and KNOW what you are consuming. So I did, and in the end, I was over 2 points. I exercised them off yesterday. I know this isn't how the program works, but I thought for this one week, it might ;-)
Anyhow, it was a lovely relaxed evening out. My mom enjoyed it and so did we. The food is so good at this restaurant. If I could improve on one thing about how I handled the evening, I would have ordered a red wine instead of a white. Then I would have stuck to one glass instead of the 3 I had. I don't really like red, so it takes me all evening to choke it down. Note to self for next time.
Yesterday, family made me a points friendly breakfast. Scrambled egg with water instead of milk (makes them fluffier), WW bread, 3 slices turkey bacon, 1/2 cup hashbrowns cooked with no oil or butter. Scrumptious. And they cleaned up after. Then daughter cleaned her room and her bathroom. Husband went for a swim with me at the Club and then ALL 3 of US took the dog for a walk up the big hill we live near. Seriously - it was my best Mother's Day.
Tonight I have to clean like a mad woman because tonight I am having my family over for a bbq. Blech. I have to manage this with extreme caution because I weigh in tomorrow. So, I will drop daughter at bus, do groceries, put dinner on, clean, do personal trainer, run, shower and get stunning looking and then host a bbq. Fun times.
A demain! Have a healthy day bloggers.
PS: To the Canadians out there - how do you say "loud" again in French?
PPS: Is anyone but me disappointed with the winner of Survivor last night? And WHY did James have his top on??? I was pretty happy for him though. He is clearly quite popular with the viewing public!

Friday - FINALLY
My, this has been a LOOOONGGGGG week.
OK ladies - a couple of you loved Grey's last night. What's that about? I found it flat. I need to know what you all are seeing that I'm not!! Loved Dr. Bailey's new hair cut, but.....
I liked CSI last night. It was tongue in cheek funny. Good cross over writing.
I think the news of the night had to be Survivor! I actually felt BAD for that guy. I loved seeing James laughing in the jury though. Eh, who am I kidding - I like seeing James period. Why does he wear clothes to tribal council anyhow????
"Just" did weights with personal trainer yesterday. Wasn't feeling the run. My foot was bothering me and I thought it best to rest it for a day.
Friend that does training session with me made some more downer comments yesterday while we were training. They bugged me. On the way home though, I realized that this is really my problem. Whatever insecurities she is feeling that is making her say this is her deal. The fact that it is bothering me is MY problem and MY insecurity. I am no longer going to take my self worth from other people. Why would I give anyone that power? I control my own effort. If I am giving my own 110% then nothing else matters. Nothing anyone says matters.
I enjoy this lady immensely and I do not want this to taint our relationship. Plus, I don't want to put all that effort in and then come home feeling bad about myself.
Today was a run day with other friend. She can't make it because she is going out of town on a golf trip. I will do it alone on the treadmill. That means I get to listen to more of my audio book, which as you all know, I love!!
Was supposed to meet yet a different friend for drinks tonight, but she is sick, so that has been postponed till next week. That worked out well BECAUSE my mom got back to me and mother's day dinner is on for Saturday night. Two nights out in restaurants in a week is too much at weigh in for me. I know my limits. As it is, I have some fancy points & sodium management ahead of me.
Have a good day bloggers!!

Weight Loss Talk - BLAH
I forgot to do my stats for the week. They were so/so.
8 activity points NOT eaten - this is good for me - I usually eat them all
40 activity points earned - I had a day on the weekend where all I did was rake the leaves. Tsk, tsk
8 Flex points NOT eaten - also good for me - I usually eat all of these also.....(maybe my not eating all my AP's & Flex lead to me loosing more than 1/2 pound!!)
OK - that's it for weight loss talk. I need a break.
Daughter taped a whole bunch of episodes of Gene Simmons Family Jewels. I had never watched the show before, and it is surprisingly funny. Even husband enjoyed the show. I like finding a show that we can all watch. He actually seems like a good dad and his kids - they seem so normal!! Nice change from the usual reality type shows that are on.
I love finding a show that makes the whole family laugh. It is such a great way to bond. We already have How I met Your Mother (Barney is a scream!), Two & a Half Men, The New Adventures of Old Christine. And now this. Fun times.
I left a message at my mom's to see if she would like to go to her fav restaurant for mother's day. She didn't call back. Odd. Normally she'd be calling right back.
I finally connected with my old supervisor yesterday. I have been trying for MONTHS!! We are going to do coffee next week one evening. I'm glad because she is one of the nicest people I've ever known. I would really like to keep that relationship. It felt so good just to catch up a bit on the phone!
It is pissing rain outside. Rain that will likely turn to snow. Sheesh. I am so ready for summer. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people that suffer from the blues when I'm deprived of the sun light. I sure hope the sun comes back soon.
Alright, I'm off to read blogs. Have a healthy day!

oooo, it hurts when I do that....
I over did it yesterday and today my legs are sore. Hurts to sit, stand or move. I'm really hoping that my swim class works out the kinks. That is all I have planned for today. Except to walk the dog to the vets to purchase some adult dog food. He is ready for the switch. My baby is all growed up.
Didn't win any money at bowling yesterday. Shitters. Had fun though - cause the other team only had 2 out of 5 players - so the games went really fast. It was cardio-bowling!!
Went to WW yesterday - 2lbs down - thank you very much! Friend that I was suppose to run with ended up going for coffee with other friend instead (the gal that doesn't think I should be running "so" much). It was raining outside and she didn't want to run on the treadmill. I can understand that, so I went alone. I prefer to run alone on treadmill anyhow so that I can listen to my audio book - which is getting really good. They were clearly talking about my running schedule over coffee though, because running friend said later at lunch "no wonder I can't keep up with you if you're running every day!". I gave her my best shocked look and said "but I'm not running every day". She said, "well, 4 days!". I have never come across this kind of resistance before. Very strange.
Of course, this makes me even more committed. So, for the last 5 minutes of my run, I ran 1/2 mile per hour faster than I normally do. It was a great run. I felt REALLY good after. Which is why:
I said yes to walking last night with the walking ladies (running friend is part of this group). Well, 7k later, my legs are sore!! They sure walk at a good clip.
In other news....well, I have none. Today is picture day for the picture blog. Missed last week because husband took the camera with him on his golf trip. Bastard!
Well bloggers. Have a healthy day.
PS: Would you believe they are forecasting snow for tomorrow??? Seriously??? Why do I live here?????

Monday quickie!!
I'm having a great day.
It started with husband giving me the nicest compliment ever (of course, he was looking to get laid, but still!). He said that I look the best I ever have our whole marriage (almost 18 years). I said, but right after we were married I was 30 lbs lighter than now. He said, ya, but now you're rock hard from working out with weights. You look great!
How nice is that?
Met with personal trainer today and friend. Had a great session. Ran after without any comments. Life is good. Weigh in tomorrow at WW. Hoping for good news because I've had a great week. I haven't racked up as many activity points as this point last week (I'm 4 points behind), BUT I have 18 flex points left. This same time last week I was already out of points. I hope that translates into good scale news.
Short post bloggers. Have a healthy rest of the day!

Sunday Confessions
I didn't take the dog for a walk yesterday. I just didn't feel like it. I did rake most of my lawn. I hate yard work. In fact, I hate even having a yard. But, I wanted to surprise husband and at least get the back done. I will finish it today. I'm surprised my back is sore today from it. I guess it is from pushing so hard to get all the dead bits up. I did it in little spurts throughout the day. I should attempt the front yard also, but I'm so bad at yard work, I'm afraid that my neighbours will snicker at me.
My cousins dropped in last night. Boy cousin needed a soak in the hot tub cause he was sore from riding his motorcycle all day and girl cousin wanted to talk about WW. She is going to go back to meetings. She has been very active, but her eating is all over the place. We had a good chat, and I think she is ready to get back at it. If she goes back it will be Tuesday, so I've set a reminder in Outlook to check in with her.
I was glad that they dropped in because it really cut down on my snacking out of boredom!!
The group of gals that I sometimes walk with are going this morning. I have to pass, because I have to drop daughter off at her Assistant Water Safety Instructor course later than they are scheduled to leave, BUT, I'm going to meet them at the Club for breakfast and coffee after. That should be fun. They are nice ladies and coffee with them is always fun.
I suppose I should actually walk my poor puppy today. Little monkey would probably really like that. It seems really nice out already. Better enjoy the lovely weather while I can - knowing our city - a snow storm is just around the corner.
Practical Magic is on TV right now. I love that movie. We own it, and still, if it's on TV I can't help but watch it. I think this movie was when Nicole Kidman looked her best. Her blond hair now really ages her I find. I love Sandra Bullock.

Nothing much
Not much going on around here.
Did my run with friend yesterday. It was a hard one. Well, that's not true - it was the same run we always do, it just really hurt my lungs. Funny how sometimes you just don't find your grove. Both of us found it hard. Other than that, it was a pretty boring day. I did lots of nibbling to prove how bored I was. It's all counted, but blah.
Today all I have planned is a walk with the dog. Might do some shopping with daughter, she has decided she needs a back pack. Exciting times! It is already so nice out.
Sadly, this is all I have. Don't know what I will do about supper - I'm thinking sushi from Co-Op. Daughter likes the spicy tuna and I have the avocado roll addiction. Cheap and low on points. Excellent combo.
Well, bloggers, have a healthy day.
PS: Thinking of cutting and colouring my hair. For the cut I'm thinking the bob that is long in front and short in back, and for the colour I'm thinking of staying brown and just covering those 3 grey hairs that are all I see when I look in the mirror! Those of you who have visited the picture blog - thoughts on if you think this will suit me??
PPS: Have any of you ever deleted comments? I was reading a blog today where one had been deleted. I'm always so curious to know why. Was it an accidental duplicate comment, or was it mean. If it was mean, why would someone leave a mean comment? What purpose does that serve?

Sabotaged!
I had to post tonight. I had a sabotage attempt again during my personal training session today.
I thought I was being paranoid about my friend trying to derail my running (you all remember the whole you can't run two days in a row conversation on Monday), but today....
We did our session which was the 8 body weight exercises. I find this particular routine unbelievably hard. My heart just races, I got dizzy 3 times. Anyhow, we finish up, and we are stretching and friend asks if I'm going to run. I say that I'm thinking about it, but that I needed to catch my breath a bit. She says again that I shouldn't be running today because I'm running with other friend tomorrow. I say it's fine. Then she engages the Personal Trainer - don't you think she shouldn't run today she asks. Well, PT says, it is good to make sure that you don't over train. That is a mistake that a lot of people make. And then friend says, well, she ran Monday AND Tuesday, and then we swam yesterday. You know, we did lots of lengths. That is using your legs. She shouldn't be running.
This goes on for several minutes with PT trying to stay neutral, I just keep stretching. Finally I say to friend, you've had various injuries for over a year now and you've never once healed properly because you refused to take the rest that the doctor told you to (she currently has a broken toe that is getting worse because she won't stay off it), don't you think it is ridiculous to be telling me to take it easy? Then she says, well, how often are you running anyhow? All I told her was that I was doing short distances, I wasn't running 10k a day.
Of course, by the time all this was done, I was feeling good to do my treadmill work, so I went to the washroom and then told her I was doing my run. Trainer laughed when she saw me go to the treadmill.
I'm really a bit peeved. All I had planned for today's "run" was the following: 5min walk, 5 min run, 1 walk x 4, 2 min walk = 30 freakin tiny minutes of cardio. The friggen running clinic I took had us running two nights in a row for cripes sake. I'm not even a runner, I'm a jogger. But for her to try get the trainer to tell me no really rubbed me the wrong way. My trainer knows my workout schedule. She has for a long time. I haven't changed my schedule at all, the only thing that has changed is that now friend is there to see that I'm doing weights and then cardio.
Sorry, I'm sure this is a boring story for all of you, but I just needed to vent so that when I see her for coffee tomorrow after my run with running friend, it doesn't all come blathering out!
So, tonight I went to the gym AGAIN with daughter. While daughter was on elliptical I stretched. My hamstrings were really tight (even after my massage this morning) so I worked them out. I'm so glad I did that - my legs feel great! Anyhow, we ended up just having dinner at the Club. I had a mango chicken wrap in a whole wheat tortilla. I had them hold the dressing. It was so good. I also indulged in some fries. 10 of them. They were so good. And the best part was that I had the activity points to spend on the dinner.
Ok, bitch session done. Have a good sleep bloggers!
PS: I thought Grey's would be better tonight...what did you all think?

No Title Thursday
My swim class was great! We still worked a lot on breathing, but quite early in the class the teacher decided it was ok for us to turn our head all the way out of the water (but still parallel) to take a breath instead of half way with one goggle eye still in the water. What a difference this made for me! I was able to relax a bit more and I didn't take in near as much water! Plus, we did lots of lengths.
I did take the dog for a nice walk yesterday since it was quite nice out when I got back from swimming class. We did 5.5 k, but it was at a slower pace. It took me 9 minutes longer than normal. Still better than not going at all.
Today I have a great day on the agenda. A massage at 9:00 (gotta get rid of that kink so my bowling game will be back on!), personal trainer at 10:30, run on treadmill (just little one) and then I will meet daughter at the Club after school so she can use the elliptical. I will do some stretching while she does that. I think she can use the support.
I made the Cheese & Mushroom Quesadillas from the KickStart booklet for dinner last night. They are 3 points each, I had 2 and I was quite satisfied. I used the WW tortillas. Husband & Daughter both loved them and they each had 3. Any how, another successful recipe!!
Tonight I will serve the left over Teriyaki burgers because it is just Daughter & I. I may do perogies with them, since they are a fav of both daughter & I.
Oh, I ended my WW week yesterday with a 45 activity points earned!! Yay me!!

Soggy Wednesday
Well, not only is everything wet outside, but I have swim class today. I'm still so grossed out from last week that I'm not really looking forward to it. Oh, well. Got to suck it up.
Yesterday I maintained at my WW weigh in. I was happy. Sort of. Well, I guess I was more un-disappointed. I was thinking about my week and I think what also may have contributed to my lack of loss was the wine I had Sunday evening while watching Desperate Housewives. I may have still been retaining water. In any case, I'm ready to give 'er again this week. I guess this just reinforces the fact that not all points are created equal. I should finish my WW week with a minimum of 41 activity points though. My one friend lost 1.6 (yay her!) and the other one was really evasive about how she did. Since she lied to me last week about where she was starting, I suspect that she likely didn't do great. I would prefer that she just say that she would prefer to not talk about it.
So, my run yesterday went well and was fun. Bowling on the other hand.....I sucked big time. I have a bit of a kink in my neck and it really hurt every time I got ready to release the ball. What a loser! An injury affected my 5 pin game. Groan! Still earned me 4 activity points! I know, it's lame, but 2 hours of light activity is 2 hours - I didn't eat them, but I liked writing them down!
Today all I have planned is swimming. I may go for a walk with the puppy, but certainly not in the rain. We will see. I feel like a lazy ass if all I do is the swim, but at the same time, I like to have a bit of rest...what to do, what to do.....
I made the teriyaki burgers from the KickStart booklet. And I used the WW English muffins for buns. And both husband and daughter thought it was good. They didn't even mind the muffins. Both of them had two burgers. Cool beans. Tonight: the quesadilla recipe from the same booklet.
Hey - cool beans reminds me - Fat Mom - are you still out there? Haven't heard from you for a while......
Mmmm, did anyone watch How I Met Your Mother this week? We only just watched it last night. That show is too funny - I freakin love Barney!!!! Plus, he's in pretty good shape - rock on Doogie Howser!

Super Tuesday - Fatinah Style
Today is my crazy day. I have to drop daughter at bus, drop dog at daycare, go to WW, go for run, shower & eat & then bowl. YIKES!!
I'm thinking I will show a gain today at WW. I had a good week - I journaled, made good choices for the most part. My WW points week doesn't end until tomorrow, I didn't change that when we went back to the meetings. In the grand scheme it shouldn't matter though, right? In any case, it is TTOM, so a gain isn't a surprise. I feel smaller, and husband commented on my abs looking toned (love is blind, but I still take the compliments!) so I think I am mentally prepared to not go into a tailspin if I do show a gain.
Yesterday was my first time meeting with my personal trainer with my friend along. We are doing semi-private twice a week. Cuts down on the cost a bit. I wasn't sure how it would all work - but sadly - we did the same killer body weight program that I did last Thursday - and it worked out great. Friend was impressed with how challenging the workout was. At first I wasn't sure if I would be able to just focus inward on myself - instead of being worried that she would do more than me - you know, all that vain stuff - but in the end, I had to focus so much on what I was doing to get through the exercises that I didn't even notice that she was there. I think it will work out great. Of course, I'm really excited about getting to work with the personal trainer 2 times per week.
What I did find interesting was that I think my friend tried to talk me out of running after the training session. I always do a cardio after. I figure I'm up there anyhow, I may as well do something. It is always only 30 minutes of something and even that includes warm up and cool down. In any case, she tried to tell me that it wasn't good to run on consecutive days. I told her that when I was running all the time years ago, I ran every day. I don't do long distances, as a matter of fact, yesterday my time on the treadmill consisted of 20 minutes total of running. But I felt a bit sabotaged. I did it anyway, because I really wanted to, but....I found it interesting.
So, yesterday was a good day. I had personal trainer, treadmill run and husband & I took puppy for a 4+km walk while we were waiting for daughter at the tutor.
So, I finally got all of the supplies to make all of the flex recipes in the KickStart booklet (except the beef taco, I don't know why I left that one out, doofus!). So last night we had the rotinni with peppers and ricotta cheese. Thumbs up from the whole family. Daughter was even satisfied with the one portion and even though husband had seconds, I still had enough left over for lunch tomorrow. Tonight I am going to make the Teriyaki burgers. I even purchased WW English muffins to use as buns. Don't know if husband will be cool with that, but he's going to at least try it.
Well, I have to get ready for my rush day. I've been visiting all of the blogs in the 8 week challenge. If you're a new reader - thanks for stopping by!
Sparky - I love that you have the trainer come to you! What a great idea - especially if you still have a little one at home.

37:50 Baby!!
I'm just back from my Policeman 5K Run & Walk race! We did so awesome! We were EXACTLY one minute slower for this 5k than the last one we ran in December (the Santa Shuffle). Why am I happy then? Well, I'll tell you. I'm happy because we hadn't been training like the last time and we still kicked butt AND we ran 5:1's instead of 10:1's, which is a whole bunch of walking more AND still we were only one minute slower. This is good news people!
Oh, and if that wasn't awesome enough - I earned 5 activity points!
We met our other friend at Starbucks and had a nice latte and some good girl talk.
Yesterday I had an incident which led to a moment of self-realisation. I think I've known this about myself, but I didn't realise how bad it was. I had two slices of pizza that left me feeling stuffed. This stuffed feeling led me to my binge thinking (you know "now I've blown it, I'm going to drink that bottle of wine and munch my face off"). Well, I stopped myself, got up and grabbed my journal and food companion - instead of the wine, wrote everything down, tallied everything up and realised that in fact I had blown nothing and was simply over-full from the second slice of pizza. I was still on program. No need to sabotage my self. And I didn't! Which is good, cause my race was at 8:30 this morning, and a bottle of wine would have made for a LONG run!!
Anyhow, now that I know this is a trigger for me, I may find it a smiggen easier to manage a binge. Dare I even think I may be able to just stop them before they start?
We have watched quite a few movies lately. Game Plan with the Rock which was quite cute in a Disney way. Good family fun. Lars and the Real Girl which was surprisingly good. Both husband & I enjoyed it. Shrek the Third - always good fun! Oh, and we watched Georgia Rule on the movie channel with Lindsay Lohan which I really enjoyed. I have the Jane Austin Book Club still to watch. Everyone is out of the house, I may put it on after I hit the post button.
Well, tomorrow Carolyn's challenge starts. Yikes. I'm going to aim for 8 lbs in 8 weeks WHILE following good healthy guidelines. I almost never get any of the GHG in.
Have a healthy rest of the day!

Hardest session ever and not one weight!
Yesterday was the hardest session I've ever had with my personal trainer and we didn't use one single weight. It was all body weight exercises. 9 torturous exercises that I had to do 3 times. To give you an example, typically I can do two sets of 5 (yes that is FIVE) modified push ups (3 times). Yesterday, by the time I was done my hour, I had done 65 of them. Sixty-freaking-five. And the other eight exercises went about the same way. It's actually a wonder I can type today.
Time now to toot my horn - I had planned a run. As we were stretching, I said to trainer, gees, I had planned to run...but I don't think I can right now....she said well, take a minute...so I went and sat in a chair for a couple of minutes and then went and did 30 minutes on the treadmill. That's right. I did my run! Even trainer was impressed and said "good work" when I left the gym.
Of course, I was so tired after all of that, that I was actually weepy the rest of the day. I found myself tearing up just on the drive home!
Today all I have on the agenda is a run. I was invited last minute to a fashion show at my Club (called a Spring Fling) this afternoon which includes what I'm sure will be a lovely lunch. I will endeavour to make good choices. It starts at 11:30 and is kinda dress up, so I need to hurry up and get back from the Club so I can make myself pretty. I may post a picture on the picture site of me all dressed up....
Well, I'd better boogie. Have a healthy day!

Swim Class = tired Fatinah
I slept like a log last night - I was so tired from swimming. The class was hard. Not swimming lengths hard (although I did do several), but concentrating, choking, water up my nose hard. I spent almost the whole class doing breathing drills - lengths and lengths of trying not to panic, get water in my lungs......I swallowed so much pool water I finally had to tell the teacher I needed to practice the breast stroke for the last 10 minutes of class to give my gag reflexes a break! In any case, I feel I earned my activity points! Of course, I should likely count a point or two for the chlorine I ingested, but.....
In other news, we were watching Big Brother and husband says out of the blue we should go to Dairy Queen when this is over. Daughter was all for that, and so was I. We watch more TV...I think....then I say, eh, I may have to opt out - I don't know if I have the points. I actually don't eat ice cream very often, but a couple of times a year, I do enjoy a sundae. So, I got my dining out guide and looked up the points. I had 10.5 flex pts left (Wednesdays are my last day on my WW week) and a medium chocolate sundae is 10pts.....so I tell husband yes, I will go. But, where I showed some restraint WAS while we were in line, I changed my order to small (7pts) which was more than big enough and I ended the week with 3.5 flex points left! Ya baby! Now I realize that a sundae doesn't have a ton of nutritional value (ok, maybe none), but...I had the points....hmm, why do I feel I need to justify this? Interesting.......
Oh, better than having 3.5 flex points left, is that I earned 37 activity points this past WW week. My personal best has been 40 (back in March). Still, 37 is pretty good! I ate all but 3 of them.
Today I meet with personal trainer, and then I will do a run on the treadmill. I HAVE to start getting some 6 mile days in for my challenge with Tigerlilly! I think I'm still working on getting to my first city. I'm trying to work my way across America. Yikes!
So, blogger Carolyn (http://canadiancarolyn.blogspot.com/) is thinking of doing a summer challenge. I think I may join up - maybe meet some new bloggers.
Daughter is in the bathroom right now getting ready for school singing at the top of her lungs one of the songs from the movie Enchanted. She has sung every morning since she could talk. These are the moments when the sullen teenager disappears and that little girl that used to give me tons of hugs and kisses reappears. So sweet.
Well bloggers, have a healthy day!

Reading pays off
So, last night I sat and read through my week one info from WW. The KickStart your success booklet is AWESOME!! It has some great recipes and gives the information to make 1 serving or 4!! Cool beans my friends..
ANYHOW...I'm reading along and I get to the "figure out your daily points target" page. Since I've decided I'm doing the program from scratch, I do the quiz. What do you think I found? If you guessed two points, you'd be correct!! I had made an error the first time I took the quiz 1.5 years ago, and all this time I should have been eating 22 pts!!! This two points covers the cream in my Tim's every morning!
So, swim class today. I wonder what kind of drills she will have us doing?
For dinner...I think I'm going to make one of the recipes from the KickStart booklet, maybe the chicken parmigiana. Serve it with a low fat Caesar salad.
I had some good news from the weather man this morning. Looks like we are expecting 15 degrees for Sunday, which is when I have to run my 5k race! That's almost suntanning weather! HAHAH!
I read an interesting post today. Thought you all might want to give it a read. http://kathycalculatesweightloss.blogspot.com/2008/04/its-so-hard-when-i-have-to-and-so-easy.html

When one door closes....
Today was our big day, me & my two girlfriends, going back to WW meetings. I got there early to find the meeting center closed due to flooding. Promptly called friends, we all met at the one house to come up with a plan. I'm so proud of us - we found another meeting in another part of the city and off we went!
The best part was that I was down since the last time we went in. And by tons! I will admit - I was feeling pretty proud of myself. After the meeting the one girl & I went to the Club to run on the treadmill, then quick shower, lunch & two hours of bowling! I bowled so much over my average that I won $4.25 from the rest of the team!! Woohoo baby!!!
My friends seem completely re-commited to WW. I'm so glad. I am going to read ALL of the literature I got at today's meeting. Reacquaint myself with the finer points of the program. I have just over a month now till that reunion. Enough fooling around. Time to get down and freakin dirty!!
Quick post 'cause I have to go make dinner.
Will update picture site tomorrow.

F*cking Winter Weather!!!
It is a balmy -16 with the wind chill today. And April 21. And it is snowing again. Crap.
So, went to the gym yesterday afternoon to do weights. Walked in and it was friggen PACKED. I guess everyone was trying to escape the cold. I just about turned right around and when home, BUT I didn't! I found the closest thing to a quiet spot near the mirror, put my audio book on my iPod and away I went.
I figured out a better way to do my weights. I grouped them up in pairs and then did one set of the first one, one set of the second and so on till I was done the 3 sets, then moved on the the next pair. I noticed that this was how my personal trainer breaks up the exercises, and that fatigues the muscles more than what I was doing, which was one set of all 6 exercises and then start over again. Unfortunately, this worked so well that I can hardly walk today - there were front lunges, reverse lunges and squats that were all very effective doing it this way!! I've never been more aware of my hamstrings or glutes!!
Today...I have to, have to, have to practice my whip kick! I may do the elliptical also....we will see how I feel after the swim....or I guess I should do the elliptical before I swim...duh!
So, many folks are shooting for a "perfect on program" day today - doesn't matter what program.....I decided to jump on the bandwagon!
I have had my milk products, one healthy oil, & one veggie ( I know that is weird for this early in the a.m., but I had left over whole wheat spaghetti for breakfast..mmmm!). I may make one perfect day part of every week......the day before weigh in???
Oh, good news! I have a 5k race to run on Sunday. The gal I had signed up with had cancelled due to a prior commitment she had forgotten about....WELL....that was moved due to the extreme winter weather (it was a golf commitment) and now she is running with me! I am SO happy!!!!!!!!!!! I was going to do it alone, but I'd much rather have company. I have signed up for a 10k alone in July, but I don't mind that because I'm planning to run alone. Different frame of mind - does that make sense to anyone but me?

Snowy COLD Sunday
It is so cold out right now - I seriously can't believe it. -23 (with wind chill). Still snowing. Didn't stop me from walking with some friends. We did 48 minutes. Pretty good for such chilly conditions! We then went for breakfast at the club, where I made good choices. Yay me!!
I still have weights to do today. Didn't make it to the Club yesterday. Did go see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Not my finest parenting moment. Brought daughter to the movie not realizing that the opening scene would entail so much full frontal male nudity. Oh, well. What was more surprising was how many times the overhead microphone made it into the shots. Certainly no Oscars there for editing. My dog could have done a better job. THAT aside - the movie was a scream. All 3 of us had some good guffaws.
Mmmmm, don't know what I'm making for supper tonight. Have to go to the grocery store no matter what. Husband is at the Club playing badminton - will wait for him to go out - I'm not driving any more today - the roads are quite slippy. Maybe I will make some chili. With this cold weather, I could go for that!

Snowy Saturday
Well, here we are - day two of our snow storm. The roads are really icy. But not too icy to get our Tim's!! I'm meeting my cousins for breakfast today. I'm going to have the Ricky's egg muffin - easy to count.
My run was fun in a hard way yesterday. The route we run has many hills which were hard. It was friend's first time out since the fall, so we did 5:1's. Good times. We even went upstairs into the Club to stretch. What good girls we are.
Battlestar Galactica was really good last night. I can hardly wait to see how it all ends!
Today on the agenda, besides breakfast is maybe going to see Leaving Sarah Marshall, and I need to "hit the gym". I haven't decided if I will do weights today or tomorrow. Guess you'll all just have to tune in again to find out!! ;-)
Well, bloggers, have a healthy day!
PS: I meant to say: I saw Biggest Loser winner Ali on Ellen yesterday, did any of you see it? She said that she went from 41% body fat to 12%!!! 12%!!!! I think that must be close to body building #'s, no? Does anyone out there know? I'm really torn between being impressed, jealous and pissed because they don't have a disclaimer on the show saying "results will likely not be attainable by the average person because these people workout 10 hours a day!"

Ok, so now it is Friday
Mmmm, so, my Slow Beans Bourguignon.....only a hit with me! As suspected - daughter didn't like the red wine taste, and husband thought it should have had rice. I thought it was perfect. I have frozen the left overs and will serve it to them again at some point, but with some additions to disguise it. Evil, I know, but I'm not throwing out an entire meal's worth of food. One of the nice things of being a small family is that I almost have an entire meal's worth of food left over. Daughter didn't even eat her bowl of beans - just heated up some left over Sticky Chicky. Brat!
Today I meet my girlfriend at 10:00 for a run. The weather is getting cold again and we are expecting even more snow than we had last week. I am not amused.
Tonight for dinner an old family fav: spaghetti! Yum!! Easy peasy and everyone loves it.
I am increasingly frustrated with my 15yr old daughter who is becoming a teenager now in full force! There are days I don't think I will make it through. And she's a good kid. I can't imagine the experience if she was drinking, smoking, fooling around....Ugh. Right now all she has is the 'tude. And she seems to have perfected it.
Not much else on the go. This weekend will be a cardio of some sort and weights on Sunday. And healthy, healthy, healthy eating.
Kate: I e-mailed you the Jamaican Chicken recipe.

I woke up thinking today was Friday :-(
I hate when that happens. Makes the week seem really long. Poor husband was thinking yesterday was Friday. His week will feel even longer.
I had my session with personal trainer. Holy Crap. She was mean to me today. She made me do everything 3 times (I mean sets) and then just willy nilly added two back exercises because my back was the only part of my body that didn't hurt after Monday's session. If my reunion wasn't 42 (OMG!!!) days......I would have complained louder! HA!
Just got back from a walk with puppy. Now that I'm trying to take things to the next level, I tried to set the trainer assistant on my Garmin so that I could keep a specific pace. Alas, math is not my strong suit, so once I figured out how many kilometers an hour I wanted to walk and then converted it out to a pace, I realised half way through my walk that I had put the wrong value in the pace calculator. I tried to just give 'er anyhow and I came in close to the pace I wanted - I was 36 seconds off! My goal is to walk 4 mph - which is what the Jillian Michael's website told me was a good pace for me to get fit. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but regardless I'm not quite that fast yet.
I told my personal trainer that I would be starting with the weights again on my own on Sunday. I haven't done weights alone since my holiday. All part of the "next level". Once a week is just not enough. I will continue on with the Kim Lyons program, since my trainer has given it the thumbs up. Once I find my grove though, I may open my Jillian Michael's book - we'll see.
What else....oh, I served Sticky Chicky last night for dinner with perogies. 4 thumbs up! The chicken was 6pts for two thighs and the perogies were 3 pts for 4. The chicken was really good. I think the sauce would be really good on meatballs.
Tonight is Slow Beans Bourguignon. It smells really good, but I suspect that daughter may not appreciate the cup of wine in the recipe!!
Oh, I had some good news today. My two girlfriends are ready to start attending WW meetings again. I've been counting points this whole time, but just doing my weigh in's on my home scale. I won't go to the meetings alone because I'm not good at making conversation with folks I don't know, but I'm happy to go with these gals.

New Product - Kashi Granola Bars
I've been meaning to mention these for a while. Kashi Cherry Dark Chocolate granola bars. I just bought my second box. I would have bought more by now, but I had trouble finding them again in the store - they were hiding in the organic section!
Anyhow, the bars are only 2 WW pts and they are a little piece of heaven. I really like them. The dark chocolate is really decadent. If you get a chance, you should try them! The link to the product site is below.

Biggest Loser - Awesome Finale!
Wow. What a fun night - watching how happy ALL of the contestants were with their new found health!! Everyone looked so pretty and handsome and they had all clearly made some great changes in their lifestyle.
I was SO very happy to see Bernie win the 100k! He was one of my favs from the beginning and he looked so very happy. Britney was so beautiful (even at her starting weight!). I thought the clip of Dan with the honey's was hilarious!! His mom - wow. I was particularly moved by her success because she is a mature woman. Those 20 somethings dropping a body size is different than an almost 50 doing it. Both are awesome feats for sure, but different.
I was SO very glad that Mark didn't win and that Alison Sweeny called him a cry baby! I remember him telling her that life wasn't a soap opera on one episode. Bastard!
So, you guys voted Roger into the final - YAY!! I thought it was so great that all 3 finalists had a REAL shot at winning. Very exciting. All 3 looked so great. Kelly was a downer right to the end though. I'm telling you - she's like Ior from Winnie the Pooh. She makes me want to throw myself on something sharp. Having said that, she looked great and as happy as she's capable. I sure hope she is able now to realize her dream of having a baby. She deserves it for sure! Roger - OMG!!! I thought he looked great. He just comes across as such a NICE guy. I thought his little guy was a hoot! And the lovely Ali - holy freakin shit!! She looked awesome!! So fit. And the clips - she's an animal when she works out. Awesome, inspiring video.
So, I was quite sad after watching the finale. Because these people did all this in 4 months. But, after some soul searching, I know why. They have that click that takes them to the next level with their workouts. They run...well, I do that....but the difference is that they push themselves past their "comfort", whereas I stop and stay at my comfort. They lift weights...well, I do that.....but they do it more than just the once a week and then when they do it they push it HARD. When I do it on my own, I don't do it till I'm spent. Not really. They watch what they eat....well, I do that....but not enough....
I'm going to work on that this week. Taking it to the next level.
Spanish Rice & Beans was, well, a hit with husband (who insisted it tasted like chili) but daughter thought there were too many beans. No worries - she ate a bowl anyhow. I will still make it again. Maybe next time I will make up a smiggen of hamburger (meatless crumbles) on the side for her to add to her bowl, so she isn't so put off by the beans......
On the agenda for today (I know you're all wondering - ha)...stroke improvement class (I didn't practice once!) and a run. Puppy is off at doggy daycare getting groomed today. He was so excited to get in to play with the other dogs he chocked himself pulling on his leash and collar. Silly puppy!!

The Dress
Tigerlilly included a little story that a lady wrote about a dress. It kinda made me tear up a bit, because it is so where I am.
http://whereistigerlilly.blogspot.com/2008/04/day-27-p90x-dress.html
Not much else going on. My Jamaican chicken & tropical salsa turned out SO freakin good. Both husband & daughter LOVED it!
Today is Spanish Rice & Beans. Which I just remembered now I have to get on before I leave the house in 30 minutes! Yikes!!
I start my 5 pin bowling league this afternoon. I don't actually like 5 pin (I'm a 10 pinner), but it's social time with the ladies. And I suppose an activity point or two.
Tonight is Biggest Loser. I'm just about loosing my mind having to wait until 6:00. Girls - what is your guess for the winner tonight? I'm guessing Kelly - although I really want Roger to win.

That old familiar feeling....
Why am I so comfortable feeling bad about myself? I had a bad food weekend. Friday and Saturday are blank pages in my food diary. Including the exercise section. Yesterday, I wrote down what I ate, but didn't count. (I also did a 5.5k walk) I'm surprised that, with all this time and energy spent on thinking about what I'm eating and making sure that I'm moving, I'm still more comfortable feeling bad about myself. I'm going to try to stop beating myself up, so I'm putting it here to acknowledge the feeling, and let it go. Maybe forever??
Why is being successful at this such a scary thought? I know in my core I deserve to feel good about myself.
I guess all I can do now is focus on today. Today. Today. Today.
I have my make up session with the personal trainer today (I missed Thursday 'cause of the record snow fall). I may be meeting a friend to practice my breast stroke kick - I can't think of what it's called right now. I haven't heard from her yet, so I'm thinking that will happen tomorrow. I will take puppy for a walk for sure and I may do the elliptical after training.
I'm trying a new recipe for dinner tonight. I have chicken marinating since last night. It is a Jamaican marinade from the Crazy Plates recipe book. I think it will be really good. I'm going to also make a tropical salsa and some brown rice.
Daughter had her last volleyball tournament yesterday. What an improvement she has made this last session - she had a great coach. They all played well. I'm going to arrange for some personal training sessions for daughter. I need something to motivate her. Now that volleyball is done, she won't have any activities to get her moving. I so want her to grow up with exercise in her life.
Well, I guess I'd better get moving. Have a healthy day bloggers!!

It isn't spring without a record snowfall!
We had a snow storm yesterday. My daughter's school bus took 2.5 hours to travel what normally takes 8 minutes. Thankfully I had kept her home anyhow. I tried to make it to my personal trainer, but I drive that same stretch of road, and when I went it was still backed up. My trainer is SO nice - when I called to say I couldn't get through instead of just charging me, she let me reschedule for Monday!
So, no weights, but I took puppy for another 5.5k walk. He did SO amazing - we passed many people and he didn't bark once. Yay! Just a matter of getting him out there I guess.
Not much on the agenda today. Coffee with a friend, dinner tonight with the wives of my husband's former men's curling team. It is potluck and should be fun. I have to exercise some time today. Right now I'm toying with going to the gym when I drop daughter off at the Club to coach. Should be nice out today - so I might walk with the dog.
I have to bring an appetizer tonight. I don't feel like making anything, so I need to go buy something. Or, I will make my bean dip. It is always a hit. Ya, that's what I will do.
So, I copied some vegetarian crock pot recipes the other day for Critter. They were: 3 Bean Chili & Dumplings, Enchilada Polenta Pie, Pintos Picadillo, Southwestern Potpie, Spanish Beans & Rice. Since I have them scanned anyhow, I thought if anyone else wanted to them....just e-mail me: fatinahdc (at) hotmail (dot) com.
Ok bloggers - let's have a healthy day!!!

A Husband's Great Words of Wisdom
So, I'm getting dressed this morning and husband says "mmm, you look good". So, I say thank you, cause I'm practising not immediately pointing out flaws that he has missed. Then I say, you know, every time I get to this weight I panic and gain it all back. You know what he says to me?
Wait for it.......
"Well, don't do that"
To him, it just that easy.
In other news, I had my stroke improvement class. Some of you will recall I did this class once before. The teacher kinda remembered me. Then she watched me swim a length and said "oh, ya, I remember you!". I guess my stroke is memorable - haha. It was a good class and I did what felt like many lengths.
It was really nice out, so I did a 5.5k walk with the puppy. He's getting really good at walking - he only went nuts barking at people, dogs twice. We stopped to visit with gorgeous 10 month old Wheaton Terrier. It was fun. He makes me smile every day. My little buddy. We still made good time with our walk considering we had to pick up our "litter" and visit with the dog.
So, new WW week for me. Can't decide if I should keep with the orange pen or switch it up... How does one make such tough decisions???? Anyone have an opinion???
Have a healthy day bloggers!!!

Biggest Loser Recap
Well....what did you all think? Can you believe how much they all lost this late in the game? Is it wrong that I'm completely depressed because it has taken me 5 months to loose what they loose in a week? I am so hoping that Mark doesn't make it to the finals. Seriously - STOP CRYING!!!!! I had to fast forward through almost all of his footage.
So, I made it through yesterday. ON plan. Yay!! I also went for a run (jog) with the puppy. Felt good to log some miles for the Tigerlilly challenge. I managed to eek out a small loss for my summertime challenge. I'm at a new low. This is the weight I tend to freak out at and gain. I am going to have to be very diligent to be sure that doesn't happen again.
On the agenda today: I start my stroke improvement class. It runs an hour. I'm thinking if it stays nice I will take the puppy for a walk along my run route. My hips are too sore to run again, but I think the walk will do me good.
Hmmm, not much else to report today.

Hot pink is not working.....
Mmmm, I didn't have an "on-program" weekend. And I think what pisses me off most is that I didn't go off plan with really tasty treats. Guess that makes me a dumb ass. I switched to hot pink this week for my journaling, but I'm just not feeling it. I think I may have to make an unprecedented move and switch colours mid-week. I was going to go with orange or neon green, but then I changed my mind and my points played the price. Ha - so did my ass, because I'm sure it grew this weekend!
Seriously though, I think if I just stick to eating my target points and activity points I can salvage things before my next weigh in. How's that for having a glass half full?
Plans for today..... house stuff. I have an obscene amount of ironing. I have to take my bathing suit pics - I decided to do it Mondays in the hope that it will keep my on track over the weekend. Of course, that didn't work for me THIS weekend, but I'm confident that it will for future weekends. Hee,hee. I have to finally move my scrapbooking stuff downstairs. I should dust the floors. I want to find a WW recipe to make for dinner tonight. Maybe I will troll Ronni's recipe page. Of course, I need to log some miles for my Tigerlilly Challenge. It is supposed to be nice today, so I will skip the gym and do something outside. With the puppy. Oh, speaking of the puppy, I should clean up the backyard.
Wow - I have an exciting life.

It's so Quiet
Mmm, nice quiet Saturday morning. I have my Tim's, I'm watching some shows I taped. Husband is off at his golf course, daughter is still in bed, puppy is snoozing beside me on the couch. Life is good. Except.....
For the f*cking snow!!! OMG - we haven't had near as much as out East (note: when you live in Alberta, out East is Ontario, Quebec - hahaha), but seriously enough already!!!! I fully expected to come back from Jamaica to green spring like surroundings. So far all we've had is snow, snow and more snow. Sheesh.
Had dinner out with friend last night at Chili's. It was a really fun visit. We split a mushroom jack fajita. And we still only ate half of what they serve. Shit - they give you a lot of food - mind you, they charge $20 for the plate......in any case it was tasty and easy on pts. Didn't drink, of course. Which makes it easy on the bill.
I'm thinking I will make it up to the gym today. Don't really have much else to do, might as well exercise. Well, except for housework - but really, who wants to do that???

TV Talk
Life isn't all about our weight. It's also about TV. With the writer's strike over, I'm overwhelmed with all of the new shows. I'm just like a kid in a candy shop! Normally this time of year I'm complaining about the networks only doing 18 or so shows a year and the seasons finishing too soon. Not this year!
So, who's watching what this year? I just finished watching Survivor. I haven't watched the show for so many years, that I don't recognize many of the "favs". I'm enjoying it again. I also have CSI & Without a Trace to watch.
What really has me excited is this: Battlestar Galactica starts its (sadly) last season tomorrow and we (Canadians) don't have to wait six or so weeks to see it - looks like the Space Channel is going to run it right away. This never happens. I watched all of Sex and the City six weeks behind. Poor me. Anyhow, I digress. I, of course, am an ENTIRE season behind. Since I have my fancy new DVR machine though.....NOT and issue!! Husband & I are re-watching Season 2, have Season 3 still in the wrapper waiting and then....I have a good life!!
To the Big Brother watchers out there: I'm still behind on watching (Natalie just got HOH and I've seen 1/2 of the food competition), but.....does anyone else out there like Natalie MORE now that Mat isn't in the house? I found her one of the most pathetic women I had ever seen before, but now that that has been taken out of the equation, I find her kinda funny. Personally, I have found this group of people kinda vile. Only a couple of them seem like regular folk. Guess that is what happens when you have to do quick casting.
I made it through my personal training session yesterday. Just barely. Sadly I relapsed on the way home from the Club and suffered a great personal indignity. Today I am hopeful to make it through the day like a regular gal. Unfortunately for my challenge, I will only have 1 mile to report to Tigerlilly. One mile. Sheesh......
Not much on the agenda for today. Dinner out with my friend. I hope I make it through that ok. This weekend should be quiet.
Eh, I guess that's about it for now. Have a healthy day bloggers.

Back to the land of the living
Well, I slept right through the night last night (except for a skull piercing headache) and I feel much better. I have to meet my personal trainer in an hour and I'm quite scared. I will have to ask her to take it a bit easy cause I'm running on empty! I was going to cancel, but I feel good enough to do something, so.....
After weights with trainer, it will be onto the treadmill for some moderate walking. I need to start logging some miles for my Tigerlilly challenge. I can't go all out, but I think I will ultimately feel better if I get moving.
I bought a new lipstick at the Mary Kay party last night. Whipped Berries colour. Sassy. Also bought daughter a face cleanser & moisturiser. The party was fun, lots of good food that I couldn't eat. I had one cracker and my stomach started to gurgle. There were so many people there I felt overwhelmed. I would have liked to have purchased some eye makeup, but.....
I have much tidying up to do around the house. Husband was lovely while I was sick and did much house stuff, but.....I have some tweaking to do.
I'm going to make spaghetti tonight for supper. I'm really in the mood for it. I might make some garlic toast on WW english muffins.
I have drinks out with a friend tomorrow at Chilli's. I can't drink cause of my stomach, but it should be a nice time out none the less. No alcohol means less points!
Did I tell you all that I signed up for a stroke improvement class again? That means I will be swimming again on Wednesdays. I start next week. That is the only class I signed up for. One of my friends signed up also - so it should be good times. It isn't something I would go to on my own, cause I hate having to get out of a wet swimsuit, but if I have a friend to chat with....it's all good.
Well, I should have a snack before the trainer kicks my butt. Ugh.

Oh, My, Word
I had the worst night last night. I don't think I slept 10 minutes. I just kept wishing for the cramps to go away for 5 minutes.
I'm starting to feel better now. Husband just called. He was going to leave work to take me to the clinic, but I think I'm on the mend. So much waiting at the clinic, you hate to take a spot for potentially nothing.
I have a Mary Kay party to go to tonight. Blech.
So, some stuff from vacay. Daughter goes to go on her dive and realizes that her wet suit is in fact not hers. She accidentally grabbed the one from one of her classmates during the scuba course. Daughter wears an 8 - this was a 14. Thankfully it wasn't the other way around - she was able to make do. Husband was able to switch them back today.
One day, we were getting ready for our tour, and daughter showed other family's daughter that we in fact has SPF4 sun lotion. Other family's daughter hadn't believed that you could get under 8billion. Well, for whatever reason, this lead the other mom to lecture my family for no less than 15 minutes on how stupid we were to be using this, and that we may as well use baby oil. I'm not so un-read that I don't know the evils of the sun, but we were on a tropical vacay and wanted to get some colour. Daughter understood that she needed to re-apply OFTEN. In any case, we hadn't asked her opinion, nor had we threatened to slather her kids in it. What makes this memorable is that the next day both her kids burnt to within an inch of their lives because while they applied their SPF45 in copious amounts, they didn't wait the required amount of minutes before getting into the water to play volleyball for hours. Daughter didn't burn, because by this time she had some colour. It was oddly hard to not say "ha, ha".
On top of EVERYTHING else, my head is now peeling. I burned my scalp along my part because I didn't wear my hat. Tsk, tsk. Thankfully, I received no lectures about that. In any case, a peeling head is not a sexy look, and I have learned the importance of keeping your head covered.
Well, I must away. I have to take a nap. Sounds indulgent, I know, but I am so tired, and so sore......

My Situation is becoming a Problem!!
Oh, dear. My stomach continues to cause me much pain and discomfort. I am a smidgen better than yesterday, although I'm still quite afraid to be away from the house for too long. Daughter put off printing her homework until this morning, when of course, we had computer issues, and so she missed her bus. I then had to drive her to school. Just about didn't make it home in time before my stomach decided to revolt. Hmpf!
I didn't exercise yesterday at all. I thought I might make it to the gym today, but so far it isn't looking good. I did manage to stay within my points target yesterday. Wasn't hard since I don't really feel like eating much anyhow. I had tomato soup last night with some crackers for supper.
Sadly, I have not much else to say. This was kinda gross post. Sorry. I have to find the energy to take some measurements for a challenge on SparkPeople. Ugh. Even that seems like too much trouble. I may have to opt out. I'm already a gabillion miles behind on Tigerlilly's challenge. As soon as I can move my booty without having to run to the washroom I'm going to have a ton of booty moving to do!!
Well bloggers - have a healthy day!

No Problem, It's just a Situation!
This was the phrase of the vacation. There are only two problems in Jamaica - 1) your horn doesn't work & 2) you can't get the bartender's attention - everything else is just a situation!
We had a ball on vacay. The family we travelled with suited our vacation style quite well. I found that because I had been working out so diligently, I had an easy time on the tours. The 600 ft climb up Dunns falls was easy peasy, thanks to all those lunges and squats!! Husband & daughter are now certified divers - I was so proud of both of them.
The best part is that I think I maintained. I will know for sure on Wednesday. Cool beans, eh??
Hmmm, oh ya - I think I have either a stomach flu, parasite or food poisoning. Stupid Air Canada. I'm sure it was their food. I passed out on the plane. That was fun. Thankfully it all happened on the way home, and not on the way there. Phew!
Well all, short post for today, since I'm feeling quite faint. I have a million blog entries to read. Good thing, since I have no energy to do much else!
So, for my picture blog, I think I will start taking weekly pictures in a swimsuit that I have that is a bit.....snug. I'm hoping to be able to take it on holidays in August. Those who are faint of hear - consider this your warning! I haven't decided what day I will be taking the pictures....maybe on my weigh in day? Anyhow....I'll keep you posted.
Oh ya, while I was away my baby sister got engaged! She is 27 and they are thinking of an October wedding. I'm hoping they won't pick somewhere tropical with such short notice...I'd hate to miss it!

Good Friday and Sadness
To those who celebrate - happy Easter. I find Easter such a sad holiday, and this morning my sadness set in. I'm pretty sure I've told you all this before, but I grew up with my grandmother. She always made a big deal about Easter. This makes me miss her all the more at this time of year. Plus, I'm kinda bummed about missing out on the lovely ham dinner I would have cooked with all my yummy WW recipes. Mostly I'm sad because while I'm excited about our trip, the holiday itself has taken a back seat. After all, Easter is what makes Christmas important. Here's hoping that this holiday will pass without significant additional bloodshed in the Middle East.
Our agenda today is to pack, pack, pack. We are going to take puppy for a nice walk before he goes to visit with his Aunt & Uncle. I'm going to miss that little gaffer. My mom & her husband are coming over tonight for a quick visit before we go. They will spend the night so we can get a lift to the airport in the morning.
So, this will be my last post until likely next Sunday. Even if I do have computer access, I think I will use my vacation time to concentrate on family time. I will commit right now though to not use the vacay as an excuse to go crazy. I am taking my weight program sheets and plan on continuing with my cardio. I wonder how humid Jamaica is? I'm hoping that having to spend 8+ hours a day in a swim suit will give me the motivation I need to do it ;-)
So ladies - you all stay on track so that one of two things will happen:
a) I too will have been on track and we will have high fives all around
b) I will not have been on track and I will need all your hard work to motivate me to get back at it.
Either way, I will be counting on you all - so don't let me down!!
Stay healthy bloggers!!
