Yay - it is finally Thursday!!!!!

Went to my really boring weight training class with a new attitude and it worked. The time passed quicker and I didn't have the urge to throw a weight at the teacher's head even once!!

I added 15's to my routine and I kicked butt. I have decided that I will get out of this class what I put in. I intend to put in 110%.

After the class, I had coffee with the ladies for an hour. If that wasn't fun enough, I then met two of the ladies from that coffee for Starbucks again at 11:30 this morning! Too much fun!!

I have belly dance tonight. We will be learning more of our routine. Can't wait.

Oh, I have the new editions of Yoga Journal & Shape magazine. Lots of reading. Woohoo!!

That's about it for now. Have a healthy day!!

Wednesday...seriously....still not Thursday?

Goodness, I have woken up thinking every day so far this week was Thursday. What a bummer. And a long week.

Fatmom - the Santa Shuffle is just a 5k race that is run in December. I did it last year. They gave us a free 6 inch subway sub after. Cool beans!! I will run anywhere for a "free" sub!! ;-)

I worked today. Again, no one in my group spoke to me.

I went right from work to the gym. This was no easy task as I had fallen asleep on the bus and when I got to my vehicle I was very sleepy. I sure didn't feel like running. BUT 29 minutes into my 30 minute run I hit my groove (haha - just checking to see if you are paying attention!). Actually, I had a great run (just on treadmill) and I have that runners high. Even now, an hour and a half and a shower later.

I'm surprised how motivated I am to get my runs in when I'm in the middle of a good iPod book. I have to start cruising iTunes for my next one. I'm almost finished "T is for Tresspass".

What else.....eh....nothing I guess. Hope you're all having an on program day!!

Most boring.......

weight training class EVER this morning. I was watching the clock 10 minutes in. At one point I wanted to throw my heavy dumbbell at her head. Ugh. She's just so monotone. Like Charlie Brown's teacher. I did notice though, when I wasn't fantasizing about throwing things at her, that I'm ready to add some 15's to my routines. Right now I'm only using 10's & 12's. I can't do 15 for everything, but I can for sure start pushing myself. On the dumbbell rows, pullovers, sumo squat and chess press I could have done 15's. Will try that Thursday and let you know how it goes.

We are supposed to have an almost record high today. Ya-freakin-hoo. For sure I will have to get out there with the dog. The little monkey is napping on my special anniversary quilt right now. How did he get so spoiled? I'm guessing the same way my daughter did! ;-)

Just made plans to go for a latte with a friend. Haven't had one in over a week. Because friend has been out of town. Can't wait - it will be so tasty! Skinny caramel latte, here I come!

Not much else on the agenda for today. Still not going to count points today. Still going to right it down.

Have a healthy day bloggers.

oh, ya.....

I forgot - I signed up to do the Santa Shuffle....any readers in Calgary thinking of signing up also??????????

seriously, today isn't Thursday?

Yowsers! I keep thinking today is Thursday. It is going to be a long friggen week.

So, who has seen the trailer for the new Underworld movie?? (http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/underworldriseofthelycans/)

OMG - it looks SO good - I can hardly stand the wait. First Harry Potter, now this......

I had my swim class today - no one else showed up so I had a private lesson. I'm exhausted. You sure work a lot harder when there is no one else for the teacher to focus on!! The worst part (or best, depending how you look at it) was that I had gone to the Club early for a run on the treadmill (which I totally rocked!), and then after I had some toast in the cafeteria I had extra time, so I went to the pool early to practice!! I looked like a prune by the time I was done!! I must have done a billion lengths!

I'm still journaling and making healthy food choices, but haven't been counting points. I need a teeny break. I'm experimenting with not having every single waking moment obsessing over food. Really, as long as I'm thinking when I'm making my food choice that should be enough, right??

Oh, as I have mentioned, I had my high school reunion in May in Montreal. The fellow from our school that organized it engaged his admin lady to help with the details. This weekend she was gunned down in Toronto - just an innocent bystander - outside a bar having a smoke. I feel just sick. This girl was only 23. 23. I never even met her, but I still feel overcome with sorrow. Her poor family. So very senseless.

On that rather sad note, have a healthy day bloggers.

Blogging Blues

Ugh. I haven't had anything to say for such a long time. I need a new focus.

I feel like my life is in a rut. I'm really tired of watching what I eat. Or maybe I'm tired of talking about it. Yes, that may be it.

I have to bowl today at 1:00 for a friend. I kinda wish I hadn't said yes. I had my weight training class this morning. It was a good one.

My sister got married on the weekend. It was a nice wedding.

Not much else going on.

Peace out.

I'm a loser!

1.3 lbs! Woohoo!!

Belly dance was a hoot again last night. She had us dancing the whole class last night. No choreography or anything. Just moves. Lots and lots of moves. So much fun. Thankfully the "jazz dancer" lady was away and so I was able to concentrate on me in the mirror. Which sounds conceited, but you have to see what your body is doing to see if you're doing the move. Jazz Dancer is so raunchy when she dances, it is hard to look away. Like a car accident, but worse.

Took a friend for a birthday breakfast yesterday with another friend. It was fun. We sat forever in the restaurant chatting and then the two of them looked at each other and said "Starbucks?". In the end, I never got home from breakfast until lunch time. It was a nice. Good girl time.

Run on the agenda for today. Not much else. Banking. Groceries. Hummmmm drummmmm. Might go for drinks with a friend I haven't seen in months. Just waiting for the e-mail. I have 8 new crock pot recipes to try this week. When the weather gets cold, I crave my crock pot!

Did anyone else cry like a baby at CSI last night?? I'm going to miss that yummy Warrick.

Have a healthy day bloggers!!

Drinking Water = Binging??

So, I thought I should explain the water leading to binging comment I made.

When I drink a lot of water, I feel full (like stuffed full). When I feel that kind of full, it used to be (and sometimes still is) because I had gone off plan. Which usually lead me to the whole "well, I've blown it now so I should keep eating" stage. Well, it turns out that I get those same urges even when I'm only full of water. Obviously I need to get past it, but until I do, I have to be careful to drink water, but not too much.

I'm already dressed for the gym so I can drop daughter at bus and then go right to the treadmill. It will be nice to have it out of the way.

I am so sore from my work out yesterday. Can I share it with you guys? Go get a pen and write it down. You will never again have an excuse to not work your muscles!!

Warm up by stepping in place.

Do 6 sets of the following: 30 seconds of squats, 30 seconds rest
Do 2 to 3 minutes of running in place (or marching if your knees hurt)
Do 6 sets of the following: 30 seconds push ups, 30 seconds rest
Do 2 to 3 minutes of running in place (or marching if your knees hurt)
Do 6 sets of the following: 30 seconds alternating lunges, 30 seconds rest
Do 2 to 3 minutes of running in place (or marching if your knees hurt)
Do 6 sets of the following: 30 seconds sit ups, 30 seconds rest
Do 2 to 3 minutes of running in place (or marching if your knees hurt)
Do 6 sets of the following: 30 seconds sumo squats, 30 seconds rest
Do 2 to 3 minutes of running in place (or marching if your knees hurt)
Do 4 sets of the following: 30 seconds front plank on elbows, 30 seconds rest
Do 2 sets of the following: 30 seconds side plank (one on each side), 30 seconds rest

Running in place can also be bum kicks, mountain climbers, ski hop, running stairs, anything that gets your heart up a bit.

Let me tell you - I am sore everywhere today. And no equipment required!!

Have a healthy day bloggers!

The Low Down

I went to the Farmer's Market for the first time ever this weekend. I purchased a truckload of organic veggies and then made salsa till my legs ached (from standing at the stove). It is so freakin yummy!!

I'm not buying organic next time though - buying from a local farm is good enough. I think all that boiling would get rid of any pesticides anyway (wink wink). Plus, organic is just too expensive. Canada doesn't regulate what organic is yet, and so my organic stuff could have been grown next to a non-organic farm, which would contaminate it anyhow.....all that to say, I'm too cheap and don't care enough.

Swimming class yesterday left me tired and thirsty. Hence the attempt to get my water in. Drinking too much water leads to binging for me though. My cut off is 1 litre throughout the day.

Weight training class today was a total hoot. All body weight exercises. Fun times. Hurt like hell, but a good hurt. Husband made me go to the gym again tonight so he could work his legs. I just walked on the treadmill for 2.5k. Was still too full from dinner to run, plus I have a run scheduled for tomorrow.

I'm done work now till next Wednesday. Wooohooooo!!!!!!!

Hope you're all having a great day

proper re-cap of my week

Mmmm, this week seemed endless. I'm finding it quite tiring working - which is ridiculous, I know. I used to work every day and do stuff, but I've gotten out of the habit. I felt like I was rushing to and from everything. I'm glad it's over.

So, fitness this week included my weight training class, runs on the treadmill, belly dance and curling.

I'm happy with the weight training class - I like the new set up and I've increased my weights. I'm really trying to make sure that I give it my all. When I was working with the personal trainer, I had no choice but to give it my all. It is easier to hide in a class. I have to be mindful of that.

Running has been good. I have increased my speed. I'm doing 5:1's and am drenched when I'm done, so it feels like a good effort. I'm going to try to remember to wear my heart rate monitor. I'm only doing 30 minutes though. I want to get to a 30 minute 5k.

Belly dance was so much fun this week. The teacher has come up with a great method for teaching the class and we were working the whole class. And she ended it with some impromptu dancing. It was great. I have to remember to send her an e-mail to tell her how great the new format is.

Curling. Yikes. First off, didn't realize until after Belly Dance Thursday night that we even had to curl yesterday. I ran into two glitches. I don't know if you all remember, but on vacation in August (my first weekend on vacation, actually - so Aug 1), I twisted my ankle. Well, it is still sorish. When I came out of the hack, I drag with the foot I twisted. I didn't realize until then that my ankle still doesn't stretch that way. OMG - it hurt so bad. And then this week I slept on my wrist funny or something and I've had trouble moving it. Well, of course it is the hand I throw the rock with. It hurt so bad to do the curl. I thought I'd have to beg off the game! Sheesh. We lost the game, but had fun.

Husband & I were going to go to the gym first thing, but we slept in this morning!! So, we will go around 8 tonight, when it is nice and quiet. I'm just going to run. Husband is going to work his legs.

Next week I only work on Tuesday! Woo hoo!! Then I just work Wednesdays after Thanksgiving until my other project is done. Sweet freakin deal, eh??

I have been having so much trouble keeping up with the challenge blogs. At one point I had over 100 entries just from them to read. So, if any challengers are reading - I'm with you all in spirit even if I don't have a chance to comment!!

Tonight we are going to bbq a pork loin on the spit. I'm going to marinate it in homemade by moi jerk spice. Yum.

Have a healthy, on program day bloggers!!
