Beach-Ready Plan May 2009 Shape Magazine D2, W4

Today is a cardio day.  It is odd to me that I have started to look at these days as relaxing.

I had a breakthrough cycling today.  I know, right?  Can you think of anything more exciting??

My ass was killing me around 20 minutes in, and that was after taking a stretch 30 seconds at 15 minutes, so I.... wait for it.... upped the gears and stood up while I pedaled!!!  Now, for a lot of you, I'm sure you're rolling your eyes.  But I actually feel nauseous at the very idea of standing up and pedaling.  So this is a big deal.  I did it for 5 minutes, and then by the time I sat back down, I was able to finish the 30 minutes.  I was pretty hot just from that 5 minutes, so tomorrow I am going to try 5 minutes up, 5 minutes down, on and on.  Can't hurt, right?  It really seemed to up the intensity, and I think I need more of that.

Rowing was as boring as ever, but I just really tried to concentrate on my form.  I'm really, really enjoying my new audiobook and I would like to recommend it to you all.  It is:  Sex, Murder & a Double Latte by Kyra Davis.  It made me laugh out loud a couple of times while I was rowing.  It kinda reminds me of Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum books.  Anyhow, if you're looking for a new author to try....

Took the dog for a short walk today, only 25 minutes around the block.  I had a lunch today and so was in my jeans, and it just wasn't comfortable walking.  At least he got to stretch his legs a bit.

Not much else to report.  Oh, I did decide today though that I will keep up with the cycling and rowing even after my triathlon challenge is done up at the club.  I'm kinda in a groove now.  Might as well keep it going.  Besides, now I can even stand up!  Who would give that up?  HAHA

Have a healthy day bloggers!!
