Hardest session ever and not one weight!

Yesterday was the hardest session I've ever had with my personal trainer and we didn't use one single weight. It was all body weight exercises. 9 torturous exercises that I had to do 3 times. To give you an example, typically I can do two sets of 5 (yes that is FIVE) modified push ups (3 times). Yesterday, by the time I was done my hour, I had done 65 of them. Sixty-freaking-five. And the other eight exercises went about the same way. It's actually a wonder I can type today.

Time now to toot my horn - I had planned a run. As we were stretching, I said to trainer, gees, I had planned to run...but I don't think I can right now....she said well, take a minute...so I went and sat in a chair for a couple of minutes and then went and did 30 minutes on the treadmill. That's right. I did my run! Even trainer was impressed and said "good work" when I left the gym.

Of course, I was so tired after all of that, that I was actually weepy the rest of the day. I found myself tearing up just on the drive home!

Today all I have on the agenda is a run. I was invited last minute to a fashion show at my Club (called a Spring Fling) this afternoon which includes what I'm sure will be a lovely lunch. I will endeavour to make good choices. It starts at 11:30 and is kinda dress up, so I need to hurry up and get back from the Club so I can make myself pretty. I may post a picture on the picture site of me all dressed up....

Well, I'd better boogie. Have a healthy day!

  1. I think I know how you feel. I was chewed up and spit out last night... at least, that's how I feel!

Great job on doing the run too! Hubby always reminds me that my best workouts were always the ones that I didn't really want to do in the first place.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Awww, congrats, that it SUCH an impressive story... you proved you could go beyond what you perceived your limitations were. So fantastic! Be proud!

I had one of those moments once too, where I was in a spinning class and teared up because I suddenly realized how far I've come. It's a great feeling, isn't it :)

  3. I bet those were some torturous excercises. Did she/he make you do tricep dips? I dread those. 65 pushups? Holy Hannah! Hope you had a nice lunch.
