working through the pain

You'll all be relieved to hear that I am almost healed. Even with my pulled muscle I went for my walk yesterday and today.

Yesterday I did a very, very slow walk to the top of my loop and then added my running, and my muscle was killing me......

Today I just did a brisk walk the whole loop, and by the end of the walk, I had worked out the kink. No more sore muscle! Just the dull ache that is left after an injury. Yay!

It is so humid out there. I would have run today, but I was doing the loop clockwise today, and the hill that I would have had to run down was too steep for my knees. So, since I want to get back into switching the direction I go in everyday, I have decided that I will only add running on the days I go counterclockwise. This will give my knees a rest, and on the clockwise days, I can work on my walking speed.

Let's see. Oh, here is some big news on how silly I can be. I have agreed to host a dinner party on Saturday. You know. THE DAY that Harry Potter comes out. THE DAY that I have vowed to spend reading since I heard what day it was coming out. THE DAY that I vowed to have zero interaction with anyone so that I would not fall pray to nasty people looking to spoil the ending. I'm in quite a state about it. I'm quite sure the couple that is coming over are not HP readers, so I should be ok.....but do you all realize how many hours of reading I'm going to miss out on?

Meanwhile, I just made myself the best grilled cheese sandwich ever. Two slices of WW Whole Wheat Bread and one slice of Havarti Cheese and two quick sprays of cooking spray (the oil kind). Yum, yum, yum. I'm having a great eating day today I have decided. I had a lovely tofu/curry scramble for breakfast today with some butternut squash. Life is good.

Oh, and I sent in my official weigh in for the Skinny Minnies. I stayed the same this week. Sorry team!!

Have a healthy day bloggers!!

  1. Never be sorry about maintaining. It's really a good thing. (At least, I like to think of it that way!)
I don't believe I could even consider company on Saturday. I probably won't be sleeping after I pick up my copy.

  2. Nothing wrong with maintaining. I'm glad you're healing. After your hostess duties are over you'll have to go into seclusion until you get the book read. I wonder how thick it's gonna be?

  3. I am so excited about Harry Potter too! I can't wait to see what happens and I know it's going to be so hard to avoid any spoilers. No worries, on the maintain, it's good practice!
