The Morning after the Night Before

I did it! We had our performance last night. We were supposed to go on "stage" around 8:15 - well, they weren't ready for us till almost 10! We did lots of practice, then we just sat around chatting. It was really nice to have that time to get to know each other better.

So, the performance went great! We had a glitch here and there, but over all I think the ladies were very impressed with us. There were several that were keen to join belly dance after the performance, which was our goal. So, YAY!!

I also did my swimming class yesterday morning. I'm sad to report I am the weakest swimmer in the class. My buddy is the strongest. The good news is - there are only 5 gals in the class, so it is really easy for the instructor to meet the needs of each of us. I spent most of yesterday's class doing lengths with a floaty thing just practicing my breathing. I tend to panic. Anyhow, I think I'm really going to enjoy the class. I'm going to go practice today, I think.

I am so very sore EVERYWHERE just because everything seemed to happen at once this week. I had my strength training session, then bowling, then belly dance practice Tuesday, then yesterday was swimming and then belly dance practice then the performance. Husband had to help me out of my nightgown this morning, because I couldn't lift my arms.

I'm trying to decide if I want to do the weights today or tomorrow. Husband says today would be better. I say today may very well kill me.

VegasGirl (http://weightyissuesvegas.blogspot.com/) asked how I chose my trainer. Well, here's the scoop. Since last August, I had been doing a weight training class at my Club. Since I had enjoyed the teacher so much, I "hired" her to set my program up for me. Had I not had that luxury, I would talk to the gym and try to talk to people who have used the trainers there. It is quite important, I think, to find someone that you can have a rapport with. This person, will after all, likely be asking you to do stuff you don't want to (the phrase "just one more, you can do it" comes to mind). Good luck. Trainers are worth the $$. I can only afford to meet with this gal every 6 weeks or so, but I still think it is $$ well spent. There. That is my...well, I guess that was around $0.10 worth!! HA!!

Well, my stomach is growling. I didn't eat super last night. Too nervous about the performance.

Have a healthy day bloggers!!

It looks liek you have been getting in a TON of exercise so good for you! Keep up the great work!
Swimming would be a great workout and don't feel discouraged if you are not at the same level as everyone else. You will be flying around that swimming pool in no time!
