Big Changes

Since my last post, I did another fundraiser - this one was meat. I'm happy to say that all of the parents showed up in a timely fashion and I didn't have to spend even one minute seething. Yay for me.

My daughter made a really big decision this weekend. She is finished synchro. So much in our life is going to change now. She swam 4 days a week, plus did 2 fitness sessions and a yoga class. Now she has all this free time ahead of her. And so do we. It is weird - I was thinking of not curling this fall, because it was a nightmare trying to co-ordinate getting her to and from swimming with our curling games. Now we can curl.

Even though I completely agree with daughter's decision, because it is the right one for her, I find myself quite angry that she had to make it. The program at our club changed in a manner that left her really with no other option but to leave. Oh, well. I guess that's life.

Daughter will now take up tennis, concentrate on her life guarding courses, and workout with a personal trainer to keep her fitness up. How excited am I that I managed to raise a daughter that understands that she needs to replace the exercise she was doing??? I'm really so proud of her.

As for me - I did a two hour walk yesterday - walking buddy's calorie counter counted 717 calories burned. How sweet is that? Next Sunday we will walk for 3 hours. This week, I will just keep going around my neighbourhood.

Hope everyone is doing well tackling their June goals!!

Have a healthy day bloggers!!

  3. I can't believe the calories you burn walking. I envy the long walks you take, If I can get in an hour a night, I am darn lucky :)

It's great your daughter understands she needs to replace the fitness she was doing with something else to keep her active, she's definitely on her way to living a healthy and happy (weight controlled!) life.
