The Low Down

I went to the Farmer's Market for the first time ever this weekend. I purchased a truckload of organic veggies and then made salsa till my legs ached (from standing at the stove). It is so freakin yummy!!

I'm not buying organic next time though - buying from a local farm is good enough. I think all that boiling would get rid of any pesticides anyway (wink wink). Plus, organic is just too expensive. Canada doesn't regulate what organic is yet, and so my organic stuff could have been grown next to a non-organic farm, which would contaminate it anyhow.....all that to say, I'm too cheap and don't care enough.

Swimming class yesterday left me tired and thirsty. Hence the attempt to get my water in. Drinking too much water leads to binging for me though. My cut off is 1 litre throughout the day.

Weight training class today was a total hoot. All body weight exercises. Fun times. Hurt like hell, but a good hurt. Husband made me go to the gym again tonight so he could work his legs. I just walked on the treadmill for 2.5k. Was still too full from dinner to run, plus I have a run scheduled for tomorrow.

I'm done work now till next Wednesday. Wooohooooo!!!!!!!

Hope you're all having a great day

  1. LOL @ wink wink re: organic food.

Your class sounds so great. I need to seek out some classes at some gyms. I have come to realize that spending 3 times what a monthly gym membership is in one week of personal training is not the best idea for the pocket book. Previously I rationalized that if I was going to work then the money I earned was all mine mine mine! Hahaha. Damn the stock market for giving me a wake up call.

  2. Your salsa sounds so yummy! I don't blame you for not wanting to use organic next time, I agree the stuff from the local farms are good enough!

That's very odd that too much water leads to binging for you! I don't think I've come across that one yet!

  3. I agree. We recently were out and saw this house selling "organic" pears....but didn't see any pear trees .... or anything that would actually make them organic. And they were super expensive. Local rocks. I love the farmers' markets.
