I had a great weigh in this morning - 1.5 down! Woohoo!!
I talked to my consultant about a plan for tonight - and it is this: I will skip my snack and at the game I can have 2 chicken wings, some fruit (I have to eat a fruit a day anyhow - I will just wait until the game), as many veggies as I want and diet pop or water. I figure if I have a diet coke I can pretend it is a Coors Light - since they are both silver cans!
I have my one hour walk scheduled for today.
I'm making enchiladas for supper for husband and daughter tonight - I'm excited cause I think they will be really good! I found a new tortilla to try - I can't wait!
Well, that's all for now - I'm too excited to update my ticker to write more!
Have a healthy day!

I got nothing
I don't really have anything to post about.
I finished Janet Evanovich's book in, I'm sad to say, a matter of hours. It was a good, easy read with the laugh out loud moments I love so much. To the Janet readers out there my question is this: if they were to make a movie - who would you have play Ranger? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that character......
I read Robert B. Parker, and Tom Selleck (yum) plays the Jesse Stone character. This week I ordered two of the movies from Chapters. I used regular (read: free) shipping and still received them in three days!! We watched them last night. Can't wait for the latest movie to come out on dvd - I missed it when it was on tv. Poor me.
Still doing my walks everyday. Harry Potter is getting good, and I hate being done my walk and having to turn it off! And I know everything that happens!!!! What am I going to do when it is all over????
Well, we have a long weekend here in Canada - Canada Day!! We rock!! To all our troops out there - thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
My big challenge this weekend will the football game on Saturday. I will just mention it to my consultant and see what she suggests. Not eating at all is unrealistic for me - so I just need to know how many chicken wings I can have!!! ;-)

Wednesday......
Just a quick check in to say I'm still on plan.
Yesterday I had lunch with a friend I haven't seen in over a year. It was so nice. Gosh, I really miss her company! I had a great lunch - the exact one that I had discussed with my JC consultant - so I felt good about it. I also did my walk - although a little boy stopped me to chat and I ended up taking a full hour. So, I'm not sure if I was slow or not. I really tried to keep my arms pumping, which usually keeps my pace up. Anyway - I got out there.
I have to tell you my coffee story. Yesterday husband & I make our morning run to Tim's. Our order comes to $3.35. Same every day. I give the lady a $5 and $0.35 so that she can give me back a twoonie. She instead gives me back a loonie, 3 quarters, two dimes and a nickel. I made husband pass her back the change so she could give me a twoonie. I'm thinking she pressed in the computer that I had given her $5 and then she couldn't figure out the change properly. Sheesh! Of course, these things happen BEFORE I've had my coffee - so it seems like a bigger deal - HA!
So, last night I clicked on Fatmom's website and I was taken to a place that talked about cleaning my machine of porn! I saw that Paige had the same problem when she went on Scalewhore's site. I wonder why that happens? Computers are scary sometimes.
Well. I'm off to fight the weight loss battle for another day. Have a healthy day bloggers.
Oh, I borrowed Janet Evanovich's newest book from a friend yesterday - I'm halfway done - so far 4 laughs out loud!!!

Weekend ReCap
So, we finally did our "long" walk. 18.5 km's in 3 hours. Didn't break any speed records - but I'm pretty happy with that. Over 1200 calories burned. Woohooo!!
They announced some new food to be sold at the Stampede this year. Are you ready for this? Sit down, cause it is gross.
* Beef Sundaes. I don't know what the hell that even means, but seriously - how can it be good??
* Deep Fried Cheesecake. Someone actually had the never to make this suggestion OUT LOUD and then someone else had the balls to say "GREAT IDEA". OMG!!! What are these people thinking?
It reminded me of the time I was in Dallas and we went to the State Fair - I actually saw a family of 4 chowing down on a smoked turkey leg - which was the biggest piece of meat I had ever seen in my life. Couldn't eat meat for a month after.
We purchased a beer fridge at Costco yesterday for husband's man room. It looks fan-freakin-tastic!!
OK - bad parenting moment ahead. Yesterday husband & I went for coffee (to get our Tim's - we are complete junkies) and we forgot to let daughter know we were leaving the house!! Didn't realise it till we were in line at the drive through! I still feel so awful about it! She laughed, but I just about cried!
Oh, and Saturday night, still on a high from my stunning loss - I drank a bottle of wine. F*@k! (see how I just slipped that in - in the hope that you're not paying attention anymore ;-))
Oh, well - gotta roll with it.

Saturday - and Weigh In Day
Well, today is weigh in #1 for JC. I don't weigh in 'till 12:30 - which is freaking me out, because of course I need to eat breakfast. Ugh - I hate the mind games I play with myself on weigh in day. What sane person considers not eating all morning because they have to weigh in? Crap! Anyhow - I did eat my breakfast and I'm drinking my Tim's.
Of course yesterday I stepped on the scale in the morning, and by the evening I was up 3 lbs. I think I have to move the scale down to the basement. I really need to stay off it during the week.
As for my week on JC - well, I had the incident with the chips, and Thursday, after Belly Dance I had a glass of wine with my friend. I didn't have my fruit that day though. Eh. Overall, I had a good week.
My exercise this week was:
389 walking minutes
60 swim minutes
60 belly dance minutes
Can anyone see what is seriously lacking in my exercise regime? Yep - 0 weight training minutes. Zip-zero-nada. None. That is my goal this week folks. My bones will thank me when I'm 80. I MUST NOT BE INTIMIDATED TO GO UP TO THAT STINKING GYM.
OK - I'm off to fret about weigh in - I only have 90 minutes left to worry - so I'd better get to it!
Have a healthy day!

Thursday
This is my honey's new table. The room doesn't look very big in the picture, but it is the perfect size for the pool table. We will be taking out the tasteful love seat and chair and replacing them with manly stools.
Today I have nothing planned. Just have to run to grocery store to find something to make for dinner and since it is so nice out today, I think I will go for a walk. I have belly dance tonight. Woohoo!! Just tonight's class and next week then I'm done for the summer. I registered this morning for the fall class. I also registered for yoga again with my husband. I can't wait for that.
Well bloggers - confession time. Last night my munchies got the best of me. I found myself alone for most of the evening (husband golfing, daughter on facebook) and I had two small bowls of chips. With my exercise yesterday, I didn't go over in calories, but it still pisses me off, because it left me even....all that walking and swimming for nothing! Tonight, if I find myself in the same predicament - I will come downstairs and play some pool. Can't munch when you're trying to get the 2 in the side pocket!! HAHAHA
Have a healthy day!

Active Day
I had a good day today - had my last swimming class AND went for an hour walk. I did the walk mostly cause I wanted to listen to more Harry Potter.
Food wise - good day. I have the munchies really bad right now. I figure that is boredom - nothing on TV.......
I think I need to cut down on the # of blogs I read. I'm spending way too much time on the computer - which is counter productive to my ultimate goal of leading a more active life.
Husband had his new pool table delivered and set up yesterday. It looks smokin' hot in the room we have it in. I'm really happy that he has a space all his own now. He was so excited.

New time sucker - facebook!
Crap! It finally happened - I've been sucked into Facebook! I'm shocked to see how many hours I've been sitting here monkeying around on there. I actually signed up so that I can monitor my daughter's page...but then a friend found me and all hell broke loose - and now it is 10:00 and I'm still sitting here!
OK. So, yesterday it rained, poured, really all day. Plus, it was only 8 degrees out. So, no 3 hour walk. It has been rescheduled for tomorrow. I'm quite proud though, because it stopped raining for exactly one hour, so I got my shorter walk in (5.4k). I made it in good time also.
I made it through day one on JC. It was a good day. Since we did nothing yesterday, I found it a challenge to not munch, but overall, I wasn't as hungry as I had expected to be. Today I have a bar to eat for breakfast. I typically don't find them very satisfying. Eh, what are you going to do???
Today will be a walk around the neighbourhood (my 5.4k route) and maybe weights. We will see. I have some running around to do - which I think I will go get done now......oh, and I have a movie to watch - "Because I Said So".
Have a healthy day bloggers!!

Jenny Craig
Well, I did it. I'm doing JC.
I have a new consultant, the gal I had last time moved away. Oddly, I felt comforted by the fact that I had seen her quite frequently last time I did JC. She is also a nutritionist.
We went through the program again. She put me on 1200 calories, but said we may have to add some stuff to accommodate the exercise I've been doing. She also told me that I can keep eating my Activia yogurt. Yay!
I weighed in higher than I thought I would, but I think that is because I wore my jeans. Silly me. Anyhow, that is kind of a mute point - it is what it is, and I will adjust my ticker accordingly.
When the gal asked me about my goal weight, I told her I wanted a 10% loss. I thought she would balk at that, cause it won't make me very "skinny", but she said that was a great goal, and not so big that I would feel it was unattainable. I'm still kinda surprised. I had a whole argument ready. That made me feel even better about her as a consultant.
Went for my walk yesterday. I was 8 minutes slower than normal, but I'm not too fussed about that because I had intended to do a leisurely walk.
We went for dinner last night at a friend's house. Since I start JC today, I had some of everything on my plate, although I didn't over, over indulge. I wasn't stuffed at the end of dinner. Just full. I was also the designated driver last night, so I had one glass of red wine before dinner. I don't like red wine, so it is a great tactic to be sure that we don't have to call a taxi. While we played cards, I drank bubble water in my wine glass. It was good, but all those bubbles are hard on my stomach!!
I'm supposed to do my 3 hour walk here pretty quick - it is pouring out! Just waiting for walking partner to call to see what the scoop is.......
Have a healthy day!

Taking Charge....I think!
I have made a rather large, and I think important decision. I'm going back to Jenny Craig.
I was doing it last year, and saw some good success, but stopped when I quit my job. We have had a year to adjust our budget to accommodate just one paycheque now, and yesterday I received a flyer in the mail, telling me I would get a bargain (ha!) if I join before the end of the month. So, I called them immediately upon getting out of bed this morning - and I leave in just 5 minutes for my appt.
Now, part of me feels like this is just a big cheat, cause there is such little thought required for this program. BUT, I am getting no where on my own. I REALLY, REALLY want to loose my 10%. I hope that this decision isn't going to cause the WW'ers to stop stopping by......I just think if I can take some of the "choice" out right now - with the amount of exercise I'm doing - I should see some losses.
I found myself feeling quite desperate yesterday. Then husband came in with the mail and I just felt like it was an answer being given to me - does that make sense to anyone - or is this just the desperation talking?
Anyhow - I will update when I get back. Wish me luck bloggers!!

Friday.......need I say more?
Sorry for the long absence. My in laws have been in all week. They just left this morning. All I'm going to say is, I'm always glad to have them here to share in my daughter's life. Daughter had a Farewell Ceremony from grade 9 last night. She looked so beautiful.
Of course, on the eating front - well.....I was back on SparkPeople this morning updating my food for this morning. I have spent most of the morning trying to catch up on blogs. I tried to comment on as many as I could.....
Later this afternoon - I'm off for a walk and more of my Harry Potter on iPod - I can't wait. I haven't walked all week because my company was here. I did though, go to my swim class on Wednesday. I actually made the in laws come watch! They were bored out of their skulls - but the cleaning lady was in, so we needed to give her space to work. I'm sure I did a record # of lengths that class (record for me, that is!!)
Well, bloggers - time for my yogurt. Have a healthy day!!!!!
PS: Can I just say how excited I am to read that so many people are having success - what a great month for so many of you!

Big Changes
Since my last post, I did another fundraiser - this one was meat. I'm happy to say that all of the parents showed up in a timely fashion and I didn't have to spend even one minute seething. Yay for me.
My daughter made a really big decision this weekend. She is finished synchro. So much in our life is going to change now. She swam 4 days a week, plus did 2 fitness sessions and a yoga class. Now she has all this free time ahead of her. And so do we. It is weird - I was thinking of not curling this fall, because it was a nightmare trying to co-ordinate getting her to and from swimming with our curling games. Now we can curl.
Even though I completely agree with daughter's decision, because it is the right one for her, I find myself quite angry that she had to make it. The program at our club changed in a manner that left her really with no other option but to leave. Oh, well. I guess that's life.
Daughter will now take up tennis, concentrate on her life guarding courses, and workout with a personal trainer to keep her fitness up. How excited am I that I managed to raise a daughter that understands that she needs to replace the exercise she was doing??? I'm really so proud of her.
As for me - I did a two hour walk yesterday - walking buddy's calorie counter counted 717 calories burned. How sweet is that? Next Sunday we will walk for 3 hours. This week, I will just keep going around my neighbourhood.
Hope everyone is doing well tackling their June goals!!

I am so mad
I am still seeing red this morning!!
Last night was the pickup night for a pizza fundraiser I ran for my daughter's synchro club. The pickup time was 7:30. The last mom showed up at 9:00. We only had one parent show up when they were supposed to. I cannot believe that people can be so inconsiderate.
Food wise yesterday, I went over by 70 calories. My carbs, fat & protein were all on point. But still. I was so mad when I got home I had a beer. That put me over. CRAP! Of course, I had my exercise calories, but still.....I let those inconsiderate bitches work me up into such a frenzy that I screwed myself. I think that is what makes me the maddest.
Last night we had a thunderstorm the likes of which I have never seen before. Many houses flooded, streets VERY broken. What a mess.
Well, I have to get ready for my torture class (swimming).
Have a healthy day bloggers!
Last night was the pickup night for a pizza fundraiser I ran for my daughter's synchro club. The pickup time was 7:30. The last mom showed up at 9:00. We only had one parent show up when they were supposed to. I cannot believe that people can be so inconsiderate.

Recipe Review
I'm happy to report that both daughter and husband loved the sweet chili! The best part was it makes so much, that I was able to freeze quite a bit for a supper next week! I didn't even have to serve it with rice because it was so filling! I used one cup as a serving...the cookbook wasn't clear on what made up a serving...
Was able to make it out for a walk without getting rained on. In fact, it never ended up raining at all yesterday. We were supposed to have thunder showers. Don't know what that was about, but I was happy to have nice weather for the walk.
I was supposed to work today, but got an e-mail at 5:00 yesterday to say the meeting had been moved to Thursday. I was less than impressed to find out so late in the day, since I had specifically asked to know early so that I could make plans for today. I am now going to miss my German class tonight for nothing because I could have done everything during the day. Oh, well.
I had a great day yesterday. I was well at the bottom of my ranges on SparkPeople, and I had just over 280 calories burned on my walk. WooHoo. Oh, and the best part was that I got a message back from a post I made on the vegetarian post board on SparkPeople!
Well challengers and bloggers, have a healthy day!

New Recipe on SparkPeople
Hello! I just entered a new recipe in SparkPeople - I've got my slow cooker going as I type!
http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/recipe_details.asp?nutrition_id=4428858
I'm planning on walking later today, if the weather holds up - if not I will likely go to the gym.....
Anyone watch Sopranos last night??? Yowsers!! I just love that show. I kinda stopped watching because there was so much time between seasons, but I was curious to see how they ended it, so I've been tuning in when I remember. Last night was awesome!
So far logging my food on SparkPeople has been going well. Everyone sounds very excited about the June Challenge. Fun times are ahead for all of us!!
Have a healthy day bloggers!!
PS: Have you guys noticed that Blogger now saves drafts automatically? I'm happy to say that I was just able to save my post because of that! I can hear you all breathing a heavy sigh of relief - NOT!!! HAHAHAHA

15K Walk - Ouch!
This morning I met the group of ladies I will be doing the 1/2 marathon with - we went for a walk and then had breakfast. We did 15 k - and man do those ladies motor!! I was exhausted when I got home and had to have a nap!!!
They are quite a nice group - and I'm glad I went because I realise that I have to work a bit harder at my training.
We have been working around our yard. I will attach photo's of the new lilac bush and new flowers I planted out front. I'm not much for gardening, so I only planted 4 plants - two in each pot.
My walking buddy figures we earned 17 activity points this morning with our walk. Holy Moly!!! That's a beer or two!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Have a healthy day bloggers.

Quick post before work
I went to class (there were only two of us!) and I think it ended up helping my headache go away!
Of course, it is back today - but not nearly as bad. I will take some Advil BEFORE it gets so bad I want to end it all and maybe it will just go away altogether!!
More later,
